The Johnny Cash Band is is truly proud and passionate in bringing the spirit and unique sound that made Johnny Cash and his band legendary all over the world, with his many hits and record sales.

Johnny’s Cash Band: captures the true essence of this great man, with the powerful vocals of Phil Younger singing and playing his guitar with conviction and attitude that was Johnny Cash.

Phil lives and breathes Cash, and sings his songs with the passion and spirit in which they were written. Joining Phil in the duets is our own “June Carter Cash”, Bonnie Halliday, a dynamo on the stage, adding that feminine touch with her sweet clean vocals and great looks, in addition to the dynamic sound she brings to the band with her solo performances of June Carter songs.

On the pedal steel guitar Bruce Green renowned throughout Australia and beyond for his amazing skill and diversity. His sensational sounds from the surreal on the pedal steel to the haunting sounds of the Dobro guitar, then a blast from his blues harp will enthrall most during the show. On that thumping bass guitar is John Joyce holding down that most important drive that was synonymous with the Cash sound. John also shows his versatility by playing the mandolin and harp in some of the ballads.

Playing that most recognizable sound of all on the guitar is Dave Lazarro underpinning the unique sound of Luther Perkins who put his stamp on the Cash sound. Dave has perfected it to the point, that instantly from the first song you know whose music is being played.

Keeping the beat in time is Rudy Banen who has meticulously spent many an hour to perfect the left hand technique and drumming style of Johnny Cash’s drummer, Mr. W.S.Holland. Mr Holland is a gentleman and great musician who inspired many drummers of today. Additionally, Rudy is a very accomplished bass player and guitarist, having played with many renowned bands in the past. He gets to display his guitar and bass playing talents on a number of ballads during the show.
