Denise Drysdale-Melbourne

Denise Drysdale began working with television at 10 years of age with Channel 9 in Melbourne.

Denise Drysdale was a regular on Graham Kennedy Show In Melbourne Tonight and was Melbourne’s first Go Go dancer.

Denise’s popularity led to the Australian Government inviting her to perform for the troops in Vietnam for three weeks in 1967. In 1969, she went to the Far East to entertain American troops. In 1974, she became Ernie Sigleys’ barrel girl on The Ernie Sigley Show earning the nick-name Ding Dong. Denise has won two Gold logies and several Silver Logies.

Over the years Denise Drysdale has appeared regularly on numerous television shows including The Ernie and Denise show which was very popular viewing.

As an actress, she has appeared in many movies and plays. In 2000, she celebrated 40 years in television, an extraordinary achievement for any performer.

Lately her work has centered on TV1. She also appears on a television commercial for Bev Marks Beds and does regular guest talks around the country, in between entertaining the Senior Citizens with Morning melodies concerts and presenting fashion parades and other shows.

Denise Drysdale is sought after for her easy going and bubbly personality. Her concerts are accompanied with her pianist. A morning of song and stories.

Willie Nelson Tribute Show -Melbourne

Normie Price has been touring the Country music scene for many years and with his likeness to Willie Nelson decided to put a floorshow together of Willie's great hits. The show consists of an hour or so tracing Willie Nelson's early beginnings, his hits which he wrote for others such as Crazy and Hullo Walls,  his Stardust recordings through to his later hits (e.g. Always on my mind).  The show includes stories about Willie to introduce the various songs.

After a 10-15 minute break  Norm features some of the Highwaymen songs plus many of his collaborations like Seven Spanish Angels and To all the girls I've loved before.  After the second half of the show is done I will take another break and then return with an hour of rock & roll dance music  so that the audience can let their hair down.  This will fill in a three and a half to four hour night.

The 60’s was a wonderful era for music and I grew up listening to the likes of Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Cliff Richard etc; Needless to say the 60’s influenced my taste for music.Performing in 5star hotels 6 nights a week for these many years has given me the experience I would never gotten any other way. It has honed my skills as an Instrumentalist and Vocalist, perfecting all the great Standards. Not forgetting the Cha-chas, Bossanovas, Rumbas and Swing that make up the very special blend of music that you play in 5 star surroundings. Of course living in India I have dabbled in Indian Classical music and in fact recorded a Jazz Fusion album with a band called “Megha”. My name is on the credits as Keyboardist.

Although 5 star hotels have been my main source of employment, my exposure to other venues of entertainment too has been quite extensive. I have performed for numerous Corporate gigs, Wedding receptions and House parties. My repertoire of Rock ‘n Roll, Jive and Cha-cha have made me a favourite choice for Dances in Bangalore, India.

The world premiere at Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Richmond was a treat for ears and eyes and the place was packed. They looked spectacular, dressed in a sea of brightly colored hand beaded tops and the audience was truly dazzled by their obvious talents as musicians. The music proved to be a popular choice with many commenting on how delightful it was to know every song. This band sticks to the standards to give that true 1940’s experience. Connie Lansberg, who put the band together, is all you could ask for in a front person with a voice that simply releases the melody and a wicked sense of humor.

Derrick recorded his first album Last Chance for Love along with a 28 piece orchestra with musicians of the highest caliber drawn from the ABC show band, channel 9 band and the Melbourne Symphony orchestra.
