The Prarie Oysters-Melbourne

The Prarie Oysters got their name from a popular Texan delicacy. That simple fact reveals the bands twisted sense of humour and lets all know that this is a band that is about playing music with balls and having a good time.

While predominately Country, they also cross over to Rock A Billy, Southern Rock and Blues.

Excellent band highly recommended.

The show consists of an hour or so tracing Willie's early beginnings, his hits which he wrote for others such as Crazy and Hullo Walls,  his Stardust recordings through to his later hits (e.g. Always on my mind).  The show includes stories about Willie to introduce the various songs.

After a 10-15 minute break  Norml features some of the Highwaymen songs plus many of his collaborations like Seven Spanish Angels and To all the girls I've loved before.  After the second half of the show is done I will take another break and then return with an hour of rock & roll dance music  so that the audience can let their hair down.  This will fill in a three and a half to four hour night.

Jetty Road-NSW

Striking twin sisters, Lee and Paula Bowman are fast becoming renowned for their rich, soulful harmonies. Perfectly complimented by the outstanding talents of multi-instrumentalists Julian Sammut and Simon Ross, Jetty Road is truly an awesome musical outfit.

Released in early 2007, Dirt Roads ~ City Lights is their highly anticipated second album.  Dirt Roads ~ City Lights comprises diverse musicality, with a matured sound of eclectic rhythm, instrumentals and perceptive lyrics, whilst retaining the familiar fun and excitable energy that depicts the true essence of Jetty Road.
In recognition of their exceptional performance and song-writing ability, Jetty Road received its second consecutive TIARA award nomination at the Tamworth Country Music Festival for ‘Best Country Act’ for 2007. The band also received further nominations for ‘Best Country Act’ & ‘Best New Talent’ at the Victorian & National Country Music Awards.

Living in Melbourne, though originally raised in country Victoria, Jetty Road’s music is a tapestry of pop and country, with a hint of folk. With such an appealing mix the Australian Country Music scene quickly embraced Jetty Road, Deborah Minter (Capital News) declaring Jetty Road, “as good as anything that has come out of the US.”

Following the release of their debut album Full Circle, Jetty Road received extensive Australian radio airplay. Singles ‘Run to You’ and ‘Heart and Soul’ quickly rose into the Australian Top 20 Country Charts. Due to overwhelming demand, video clips of the songs were also released. The band also featured live on Channel 7’s Sunrise, and Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.

Adding to this momentum, Jetty Road’s music featured in a radio showcase in Canada in 2006. ‘Run to You’ successfully secured #1 position on a compilation album released by ABC Records. ‘Heart & Soul’ also appeared on a compilation album through Shock Records in 2006.

The Noll Brothers - NSW

The Noll's Brothers Adam & Damian have played in Shannon’s band for the past three years & Damian wrote a song called “The Way That I Feel” for Shannon that sold 1 million copies.

Not only are they doing shows with Adam Harvey who just happened to win album of the year at this year’s Golden Guitar awards, but Lee Kernaghan, who was named Australian of the Year in January has asked the boys to also tag along with him for a few shows .
Their new single, A Country Heart (title track off the album) has just been taken to radio and is setting up to gain the same success as their debut, Shining Star. The title track, which was co-written with their little brother Shannon, tells the story of their parents and themselves, but has universal truths about the sacrifices made by the individual for the good of the family. “A Country Heart is our story,” Damian explains. “It’s about our family but it’s also about every family out here on the land……...” Its’ a situation the Nolls Brothers know first hand. After more than a century, in 2003 the Nolls Brothers had to sell the family farm which was brought on by the ongoing drought.

Damian, younger than Adam by three years, had written a song for Shannon’s debut album and the encouragement he received from that led to he and Adam writing wherever and whenever they could. Produced by Craig Porteils, A Country Heart was recorded in Sydney’s Velvet Sound Studios. Nine of 12 tracks were written by the Noll brothers, each reflecting their love of driving and energetic country music as well as the stripped back rock recalling the likes of John Mellencamp, who was so popular with the boys when growing up.
