Wally's Childhood Health Workshop for Parents A workshop delivered by Jane O'Brien an experienced health presenter who shares her recipe for good health for children and their families. The topics can include healthy eating, sleep, physical activity etc. 5. Wally's Water and the Environment Program Wally will educate your students on how to save water round their home, school and other environments using music, drama, story telling and movement to music. Think of any environmental topic and Wally will cover it! Before The Kazoos she was writing and performing her own songs in clubs around Melbourne, Australia. In fact, it was at one of these gigs that she met her future husband, Chris Hill. Little did they know that the birth of their first child would inspire the birth of The Kazoos! As parents of two pre-schoolers, Chris and Celia recognize the importance of children’s education and incorporate many subtle learning activities into The Kazoos’ performances. Shadow Puppets Workshop-MelbourneActivity. Students are given a quick history of puppetry around the world identifying which cultures specialise in which genre of puppetry ( e.g shadow, full body, hand, string etc.) with an emphasis on shadow puppetry. Students are then shown how to create a shadow puppet and perform it on the shadow screen (provided). Students can take home their creations to continue the activity as desired. Workshops can be focused on specific themes as requested by schools. So if the curriculum is exploring particular lines of study, these can be incorporated into the workshops. Prior advise is requested at time of booking. Relationship of Puppet constructionand key learning areas. 'New technologies'.Skillsexercised: Co-ordination Comprehension At the conclusion, Students have a 'take home' product to reinforce new skills covered. 'Well being': Puppetry facilitates expression of difficult and complex issues by shifting focus to a non threatening 3rd party ( i.e. the puppet). Any Issues can then be addressed such as for bullying, loss, shyness. Guidance is provided through- Peer Collaboration (group work) Team work.These skills are required for story construction and performance using the newly created puppets at the end of the session Tech Specs: Students Max. 20 with teachers assisting.
