R N Roll 150A--Melbourne A five piece honkin', jump-jazz-rhythm and blues 50's rock n' roll band that play songs from 1945 through the 50's to 1963. Music Influences include - Louis Jordan, T-Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, J O'K as well as a number of lively instrumentals that are sure to get the joint jumpin'. The band is fronted by Ruben (Vocals), Adrian (Tenor Saxophone) with Cameron tinkling the piano, Lindsay slapping the "Stand-up Bass" and with Mick on Drums making up a hot swinging rhythm section. We use a range of instruments, the singing is shared and four part harmonies are a feature. They are based in Castlemaine and have been performing in Central Victoria for more than 20 years and feel its now time to expand our horizons, with our CD, biography and repertoire you will hear we cover a variety of music. For Rock n Roll performances we complement the band with the addition of a saxophone for an authentic sound. Collectively with more than 100 years in the music industry they can adapt from the smallest venue where only acoustic music is required to large outdoor festivals .We also provide a special service for wedding couples, the band will learn and perform their requested songs acoustically during the ceremony whatever the venue. Rock N Roll 751A-Melbourne Bruce has been professionally involved in the entertainment industry for over 40 years with hundreds of demands for his pedal steel, dobro & harmonica skills in both recording & stage presentations all over the country. He has appeared with countless fine artists which in include The Kernaghan Family, Alan Hawking,The Hawking Brothers, Ian Castles, Alison Durban,Slim Dusty, Smoky Dawson and Reg Lindsay to name but a few. He has been influenced greatly by the exciting sounds of rock&roll from the golden days of the 50’s and 60’s and absorbed much of Johnny O’Keefe, Buddy Holly Sam Cooke and the “Rolling Stones. During the 70’s Jimmy collected material from the “Eagles” Bob Segar and Jimmy Buffet.The 70’s also brought along material from some terrific Aussie bands. Jimmy also embraced the country music sounds of Buck Owens, Marty Robbins and Kenny Rodgers. Because of his wide interests in music Jimmy is acknowledged as one of the most versatile of singers. He has songs for everyone and delivers them in his own enthusiastic way. He is also regarded as one of the “good guys” in the industry with friends and acquaintances in venues everywhere. During the days of the big pub rock and cabaret shows, Jimmy has played the opening sets for many Celebrated artists including Blondie, Del Shannon, Jon English, John Paul Young,Ted Mulry, Skyhooks, Seekers, Jimmy Little, Ol’55 and Jade Hurley.
